Substance Of Dreams
The Spring Launch of 2003. Shown on the balcony over looking the pool at the Melbourne City Baths, corner Swanston and Victoria Streets, Melbourne, Victoria. The City Baths are owned by the City of Melbourne with the balcony and entire front section of the baths being 99 years old at the time of the launch.
The clothing labels represented were Cinema Haute Couture and Roger Grinstead. Seven models paraded along the balcony and mingled with the guests. The turquoise of the 33 metre swimming pool below framed the fashions superbly, whilst a violinist played in a corner.
And the press wrote - “Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival doesn’t open for more than six weeks, but hat lovers have been given a sneak peek at what is to come. From flamboyant and daring to sleek and chic, new offerings from Melbourne designer, Paris Kyne, are sure to get race goers’ attention. Seven models strutted against a backdrop of crystal blue water”
